Here's What You Missed on Rolling Loud 2025!

Like many hip-hop fans, Rolling Loud has become a holiday since it was founded in 2015. Because of its ascendence within the hip-hop community, it has brought in the biggest names in the industry to perform. The event is usually a 2-3 day event that has been hosted all around the world. While most of the performances have been located in either Miami or the big cities in California, their expansion since 2019 has led them to New York, Canada, Australia, Portugal, and more. With each day being headlined by a well-known artist each year as the final act. Hours before that, just like a boxing card night, you’ll have many artists come out and perform to get the crowd going so you’ll be able to hear some of their favorite songs being played.

For the first time in a couple of years, Rolling Loud was hosted back in California and for the first time in Inglewood. The headliners for both days were A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti. While it might not have had the most exciting buildup, the stage, and popularity were still there for those who were able to attend. But that isn’t to say that there wasn’t any new star power or some old faces appearing. Names like Ski Mask The Slump God, Tee Grizzley, YG, Ab-Soul, and Quavo returned as veterans. Whereas newcomers to the game such as Ken Carson, Destroy Lonley, Sexyy Red, Ian, DDG, and even Gelo. With all of those names still the headliners not only took over the shows, but both had a unique buildup right before the event.

A$AP Rocky had an ongoing feud against his former friend and friend A$AP Relli dating back to November 6, 2021, where “Terrell Ephron, aka ASAP Relli, went to meet up with Rocky to repair their crumbling relationship.” (Los Angeles). It was alleged that shots were fired at the meeting due to an argument that had arisen between the two and that Rocky had a real gun with him which could’ve been used as the weapon in the incident. Rocky was charged with 2 counts of assault with a semi-auto firearm. And he would’ve had to face 24 years in prison had he been convicted of the crime. Fortunately for him, they never recovered the alleged gun that let out the shots at Relli, instead only the prop gun that Rocky had wasn’t enough to convict him of the crime. Therefore, he walked away not guilty.

And what perfect timing that was because a month later he would be headlining day 1 at Rolling Loud, and he made sure to make his presence known. Rocky was seen coming from the skies on a helicopter and all the way down to the stage to perform his nearly 40-minute-long set for the night. Playing hits like Praise the Lord, RIOT, Tailor Swif, and a new unreleased song also.  He also announced his next album that will be released soon titled “Don’t Be Dumb” possibly coming later this year. With Rihanna and some family and friends cheering him on in the crowd, I could bet you he was having a great time that night.

While day 1 was a treat for hip-hop fans, day 2 would be the one to bring everything together. Playboi Carti, arguably one of the most popular names in this generation period would be headlining the last day of Rolling Loud this year. For him, it would be no surprise that he would garner possibly way more attention than A$AP Rocky did the day prior. Not only would he and the Opium crew pop out to perform (Destroy Lonely, Ken Carson, Homixide Gang), but his long-awaited 3rd album “I AM MUSIC” had just dropped a few days before on March 14th. The hype was real as he had everyone waiting for hours once news got out that the drop would be very very soon. For me I’m not the biggest Carti fan, but I was tuned in whenever the wait was real. It was eventually released early that morning and for better or worse there it might take some time like any album to truly get the full picture if it’s good or not. Though with the hype that was already building the wait was no longer needed once he stepped foot onto the stage.

With energy that was already oozing through the crowd and mosh pits everywhere. This is where Carti shined the most, performing his early career hits while also playing some of his songs of his newest album. He also had a surprise performance with the Weekend to play their collab songs in “Timeless and Rather Lie”. It got to the point where some of the producers would even be willing to let Carti go past the curfew time just for him to get the full time for his set on stage. That’s the influence that Carti has given to his fans and the industry itself. He is just a one of one character that has grown into a star in this generation. Hope you enjoyed this recap of the 2025 Rolling Loud event and hope to see you back here next year!
